OOAK " Tickle Toes " the Christmas Crow , primitive star ornies ,& primitive make - do doll ornies

Hi everyone! As you can see I gave the prarie dolls a mini-makeover , I like these tags much better. They now say Faith, Family, & Friends. I am putting them on Ebay today along with the star ornaments. Don't forget to check out Creepy Claus , he is up for auction right now, and The Primitive Manger Scene in my last post ( to be auctioned starting the day after Thanksgiving) .
" Tickle toes" the Christmas Crow is my newest creation, I just finished him at about 2 am this morning. His tag is reversable and the goodies in his arms are all removable, so he can be displayed even after Christmas! He is about 13" tall and is holding a star with a "prim" tag , a grubby candy cane and a pine branch. His tag says " Tidings of Comfort & Joy" on one side, and " Old Friends , Good Friends " on the other. His feet are made of bent rusty looking forks ( no tetnus worries, this is just a paint technique) and are textured. I named him "Tickle Toes" because his toes are all curled up like he's going to tickle someone. He will be posted here until the day after Thanksgiving and then he will be auctioned on Ebay with the manger scene. TICKLE TOES THE CROW $15

Thanks for looking! I'll try to get more posted later this week! You can always contact me at upthecreekprimitives@yahoo.com if you see anything you want, Have a happy Thanksgiving ! Make sure to check out my newer posts!

Primitive Nativity / manger scene

SOLD
Well, Thanks to one of our kids, I finished the nativity set earlier than I thought, a little help with stuffing the arms really went a long way. So here they are ...
This set includes everything shown: Mary with baby Jesus, Joseph, 3 Wisemen , a sheep and a cow. They are all individual dolls ( between 11 and 17.5" tall) and can be moved around . They are also weighted to stand on their own. Each wise man has a gift with a tag ( gold, frankensence, and myrrh ) Joseph has a shepherds staff that is removable, and Mary is holding the baby Jesus (not removable). Each of the 5 dolls are signed and original OOAK creations . This set is going on Ebay in about a week. I am not going to be making anymore of these sets so you can be sure that you got the only one.

Also " Creepy Claus" is going on Ebay tomorrow evening, he is going to be started at $20 , as always locals who contact me before paying to arrange drop off / pick up times will have shipping charges removed. Thanks for taking a look!! Come back by anytime!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hello everyone!! I regretably don't have anything new to post at the moment, I have been putting every spare moment into my primitive nativity scene ..which I am hopeing to have finished by Thanksgiving day. It has been a huge undertaking. There are 6 dolls and some live stock too, thus far none of which are finished. I have one of the wisemen nearly finished but I need to go get some more wool for his beard..I am going to try to do that tomorrow if all goes according to plan. I just thought I'd say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone just in case I don't get to post again before then.

Helga & Cotton and Snowman Wreath

Here they are! I found my card reader in the kitchen cabinet this morning ( the girls had apparently decided that that was where it belonged) Helga is about 29" tall and has a pinched nose, twig arms and legs, frayed jute hair and a reversible name tag that says " Helga & Cotton" on one side (shown) and "The Lord is my shepherd" on the other side. She is holding her pet sheep Cotton.

HELGA & COTTON $16

The snowman Christmas wreath is about 15" from top to bottom.
The wreath is not premade ,( I made it from the grapevine that grows in
the woods behind our house) so I have no idea what the circumferance of it is. The snowman has a suprised look on his face and the tree is leaning toward him. The tree has a rusty jingle bell with a light coat of mustard yellow paint for the star, and a reversible tag that reads "Oh, Christmas tree" on one side and "Oh, Christmas tree, Don't fall on me!" on the other side

SNOWMAN CHRISTMAS WREATH ..SOLD

Here is the new main picture of Santa too, I have more detailed ones of him that will be posted on Ebay. I am putting him on Ebay tonight around 11 pm and he will run for 3 days only so don't miss him ! I'll be starting him out at $18 instead of the $20 I had him listed for.

NOTE: I am changing some of the pictures on this site this week so if you are unable to see some pictures, I appologize , I will have them fixed in the next couple of days. Thanks for Stopping B

Custom bulbs on Ebay

I have to appologize for posting cropped versions of the same pictures I posted last time but my twins apparently decided that my card reader was a toy and they made off with it so I can't upload the pictures of my new stuff today. Not to worry though, I am going to go pick up a new reader tomorrow. For now all I have on Ebay are sets of three customized ornaments like these. You pick the name/word on the tag and the rust or dirty snowball finish. I have them listed as Buy It Now for $6.00 a set. (clicking "buy it now" will link you to the listing) I wanted to put my black Santa up for auction today too, but I want more detailed pics first, so he'll be on there later this week. I have gotten a couple of new things done (and will post pics in the next couple of days) One is a doll named Helga and her pet sheep Cotton (I am very aware that cotton does not come from sheep..lol.) and the other is a Christmas wreath that has a snowman and leaning Christmas tree. I don't want to give away to much...so I'll just save the rest of the discription for my next post. Oh, and I almost forgot ...I fixed the comment boxes! I had been told that some of you weren't being allowed to leave comments unless you had a google account..so I changed it to accept all comments. If it still doesn't work just Email me at upthecreekprimitives@yahoo.com. Untill next time ....

New Santa

I just finished this Santa today and I thought I would go ahead and post him tonight along with a Folk art Jesus and the prairie dolls . So here they are..:)

I pictured the santa and Jesus together for the sake of space but I have plenty of seperate pictures too , I can email them if you like.
Santa is about 27 " tall and is made from painted cinnamon brushed fabric. He has a rusty bell attached by a safety pin on the tip of his hat and a tiny jingle bell on each of his boots. He also has rusty bell buttons and a grubby tag that reads: " Fat & Jolly" He is a make do doll and is not weighted. Santa nor Jesus include the "vase" pictured . It is infact not even a vase, it was a gift from my husband to hold some flowers that I made this spring, it is an old tarnished vietnam era caseing from a 105mm howitzer cannon. SANTA $20

Jesus is about 29" tall and stands on his own. He is not weighted, he has dowel legs and a rough wooden base . His body and face are hand painted fabric . This Jesus leans a little more toward the folkart side than most of my work, his face is very detailed , down to even the eye lashes and blood vessels in his eyes. He is tea dyed but not nearly as much as my other items generaly are. He also has a hang tag that says " Amazing Grace"
JESUS $ 28

I actually made these prairie dolls about 2 mos ago and never put them on Ebay or tried to sell them, I was kind of fond of them so I just let them hang around a bit longer in a candle box on the top of one of my old trunks , but with Christmas fast approaching I thought that they might make a nice addition to someones tree so I have decided to go ahead and let them go. There are 6 of them. They are between 6" and 8 " tall. Their arms and legs are made from sticks and their bodys are made from fabric , one is painted and the rest are cinnamon brushed. Some have tags and some don't there are 3 indians ( one of whom we have named the medicine man ) and 3 settlers. At this point they do not have hooks for hanging but I will add hooks to them for free if you want them for your tree.
6 SETTLERS AND INDIANS ORNAMENTS : $ 15

Make sure to look at my other posts! And watch for new ones, I am going to try to add at least 2 new things a week, if not more.

A couple of my past creations

I thought I'd post a couple of the things I have made in the recent past that I really loved. Both of them have already been sold. The little dachshund's name was Longfellow and he sold this summer on Ebay. The turkey's name was Gobbles and he was auctioned in a basket at my children's school this morning.

Creepy Claus and the Tree

Here are my latest 2 creations "Creepy Claus" (named by my children) and the tree.

Creepy Claus is about 38" tall and has a fleece beard , twig Christmas tree (left), and star ornament (right). At the moment he is not completely finished , I ran out of rusty bells and pins and have ordered more, when finished he will have a rusty bell on the tip of his hat. I am expecting the bells to arrive some time this coming week. Creepy Claus $22,

The tree is about 30" tall and Does come with the ornaments shown It is weighted to stand on its own and is quite heavy. This one is strictly for local delivery, it weighs about 20 lb and would be easily broken in the mail , not to mention the shipping costs would be more than I am asking for the tree.
Tree and ornaments $20.

I am currently working on several sets of ornaments and a primitive manger scene as well as several other dolls so check back or subscribe. Make sure to check out my other posts to see my other work and contact me if you see anything you're interested in. I can post it on Ebay now and if I am very lucky I will have my online store finished soon. Thanks for looking!

Finally on the web..

Well I finally made it to the web...a blog wasn't my original plan but the coding drove me nuts and Blogger made it nice and easy so here I am! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Christine Fouch . My husband, Kevin and I have 10 wonderful kids (6 boys and 4 girls) Some of our kids have taken to the primitives as well and I am teaching the ones who want to learn, how to stitch and stuff . I have been doing Primitives since about 1996 (before they were really grubby!)
My aunt got me started and I in turn got my Mom into it. Most, if not all ,of what I post here will be my work. I do not use patterns so all of my dolls are one of a kind . Most of my work is sold on Ebay so if you see something you're interested in just email me at upthecreekprimitives@yahoo.com and I can set it up on Ebay for you.
